Notes/Terms: | GENERAL INFO - SECTIONS: OPEN (girls in K-12) / Scholastic I (girls in K-12, U800) / Scholastic II (girls in K-12, U400) TROPHIES: Top 3 Trophies in Open Section. Top 5 Trophies in U800 and U400 sections. Participation trophies to all other girls! In addition to trophies, there will be various science prizes . USCF Rated. Individual Swiss format with 4 rounds. Open to girls in grades K-12. Please arrive by 8:30 am to inform us of players that will not attend. Pairings are posted at 8:45 am. Announcements start at 8:55 am and 1st round begins at 9 am. DEAR GIRLS, PARENTS and VISITORS, We look forward to hosting an exceptional event - 4th Annual Chess & Science Festival and ALL-GIRLS Chess Tournament in Tucson, AZ. The event will take place in the FLANDRAU SCIENCE CENTER AND PLANETARIUM and is supported by the Flandrau's staff, the University of Arizona College of Science, and various UA departments. We have been generously offered FREE admission to the Flandrau Science Center and Museum for all tournament participants and their families (up to 4 people), FREE movie throughout the day, various science exhibits and more. Visitors will be offered reduced admission of $3 per adult and $3 per child. There will be a separate room for parents and to analyze games. Parents and siblings will have an opportunity to explore the museum, participate in the various chess and science activities, take advantage of the FREE movie, and more...

"Puzzles, Proofs and Patterns" and other brand new exhibits at Flandrau - http://flandrau.org/exhibits/puzzles 3. Simultaneous Chess exhibition for kids and adults by an 8 y.o. boy - one of the top kids in Arizona in his age group. 4. Giant Garden Chess Set to play for fun outdoors. 5. Math Circle - http://ime.math.arizona.edu/tmc/ 6. Physics Factory - http://www.physicsfactory.org/ 7. The Neuroscience Club (brain zoo exhibit) 8. Chemistry Club 9. Astronomy Club 10. Surprise movie 11. SPECIAL GUEST - Planetary scientist Sarah Morrison.
