Schedule: All Sundays - Games start at 2:00 pm. Next rounds - when all the games are completed - tentatively: round 2 at 3:15 pm, round 3 at 4:30 pm. Closing ceremony - 5:45 pm.
Time Control: All Sections: G/30 d/5 - Game in 30 minutes; delay clocks set at 30 minutes + 5 seconds delay
Byes: Half (1/2) point bye requests (1 maximum) are available for all rounds.
Byes must be requested prior to the start of round 1.

Sections: 4-8 players Sectionals will be formed based on players USCF rating. This will provide fair chances and challenging games for everyone. 

Individual Awards: 

  • 1st and 2nd place Trophies are awarded in each Section.

  • A player who scores the most points in Total across all 4 Sectionals will receive a Special Trophy and a Chess Book. 

  • A FEMALE player who scores the most points in Total across all 4 Sectionals will receive a Special Trophy and a Chess Book.

Family Team Awards: 

  • Best family team across all 4 Sectionals will receive an award. Any combination of children, siblings, parents and even grandparents from the same family counts toward the Family Team. Teams must consist of at least 2 players with the top 2 scores across all 4 Sectionals counting toward team's points total.

Time Control: All Sections: G/30 d/5 - Game in 30 minutes; delay clocks set at 30 minutes + 5 seconds delay.

Round Schedule: 2:00 pm, then tentatively 3:15 pm & 4:30 pm. Closing ceremony - 5:45 pm.

Entry Fee: 

  • Any 1 Sectional  - $25.

  • Any 2 Sectionals - $48.

  • Any 3 Sectionals - $69.

  • All 4 Sectionals - $88.

Other tournament rules:

  • All players must be current USCF members. 

  • You may purchase or renew memberships at http://uschess.org/

  • Cutoff for on-line registration is 9:00 pm on Saturday before the tournament. 

  • Players registering the day of the tournament might or might not be able to participate.
