Description

"Pawns are the soul of chess" - Philidor

This class will build the foundation for understanding strategy in the middlegame and endgame phases.  Specifically we will examine the importance of using pawns to control space and restrict opponent's pieces, for attacking purposes, as well as breakthroughs in the endgame.  Each session will feature a discussion/lecture period and practice session.

This class is open to beginner adults.  No competitive tournament experience required.

  1. By registering for this event, you give permission for images of you, captured during participation in RedBandit Chess LLC (RBC) programs and events through video, photo and digital camera, to be used solely for the purposes of RBC promotional material and publications, and waive any rights of compensation or ownership thereto.  RBC will never publish photos with names of children without permission.  Please send a request via email if you prefer no photos of you/your child to be taken.
