| Notes/Terms: | Description: Open to students in Kindergarten through 12th grade. 4 divisions in two sections, RATED and NON-RATED. All players in the RATED Elementary, and Junior High/High School divisions must be USCF members.
Kindergarten through 3 rd grade without a US Chess Federation (USCF) membership number can request a Junior Tournament Player (JTP) membership number through SACA at no cost. E-mail scholastic@sazchess.org by Thursday, December 12, at 8:00 pm to request a JTP membership number. Please include player’s name, mailing address, and birthdate. An e-mail reply with a membership number will be provided within 24 hours. **JTP membership available for Primary (K-3) and Primary (K-1) divisions only.
Individual/Team format 4 round Swiss with 4 divisions per each section: Junior High/High School (K-12), Elementary (K-6), Primary (K-3), and Primary (K-1). This is not an elimination tournament; all players will play all rounds unless they withdraw from the tournament.
Entry Fee: $10 per player. Bring chess clocks and sets, none provided. To Register: Each player is responsible for registering online via the Events4Chess, by Friday, December 13 at 9:00 pm. (Registration close). After registration close you will be assessed a $5 late fee and will not be paired for round 1. You will enter as a 1/2 point bye for round 1.
**Required information for each player includes the following: Player's Name, USCF ID, Team Name (School), and Division.
Schedule: Check-in is not required. Please arrive by 8:30 am to inform us of players that will not attend. Pairings are posted at 8:40 am. Announcements start at 8:50 am and play begins at 9:00 am!
Please be seated as soon as the pairings are posted. Round times are 9:00, 10:30, 12:00, 1:30.
Time Control: Game in 30 minutes (per player) with a 5 second delay.
Awards: Individual: Trophy to all who score 3.5 or more points. Medallion to all who score 3.0 points. Ribbon to all who score 2.5 points. Participation Certificate to all.
Team: Top 5 teams in Junior High/High School (K-12), Elementary (K-6) and Primary (K-3), Top 2 teams in Primary (K-1). Team scores will be based on the top 4 scores.

USCF Membership is required for all players in the Rated Junior High/High School (K-12) and Rated Elementary (K-6) Divisions. It is encouraged for players in the Primary (K-3) and Primary (K-1) Divisions. USCF Membership may be purchased online at the USCF website. (Annual membership rates range from $17 - $28.)
A food/snack bar will be available at the tournament site.
