Notes/Terms: | This event is organized and sponsored by National Scholastic Chess Foundation and sanctioned by the CONNECTICUT STATE CHESS ASSOCIATION. This is an official CSCA State Championship event to determine and crown the Connecticut State Champion in each grade, K through 12. COVID-19 Protocols Apply – No at the door entries. Advance registration only and space is limited. All players and family members must wear masks at all times while indoors, including in the playing area. Limit of 1 accompanying adult per player. Entry fee is $55 and includes one year dues in CSCA. ALL PARTICIPANTS: Please note the starting time for your section. Please arrive early and check the Advanced Entry List to confirm registration. Byes: 1/2 point by for round 1 only, 0 point byes for later rounds. All byes must be requested by 6 pm on November 5. PRIZES: Trophies to all players scoring 3 points or more in each section. K-1: Medals to all non-trophy winners in K-1. Teams: Trophies to top 3 school teams in each combined section: K-1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-8 (Middle) & 9-12 (High). You do not have to be from Connecticut to win one of these prizes. Connecticut Championship: In addition to the above prizes, the top player from each grade who resides in or attends school in Connecticut will receive a plaque as Connecticut State Champion. Refunds/Cancellation Policy: If you cannot play in this event, you may withdraw by email no later than 9 am on November 6. Refunds must be requested by email. No telephone withdrawals or refund requests. There are no refunds for No-Shows. Refunds are subject to a $10 fee which covers administrative and credit card processing charges. |
