Notes/Terms:

There are currently NO COVID requirements in place. 

Registration closes on Friday, December 2 at 5:00 pm. Sections may sell out in advance. There is NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION  for this event. Upon your arrival, verify that you are on the posted pre-tournament pairing list. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email in the event there is an error.

Chess sets are provided. Bring clocks. Notation is required in rated sections. Unrated sections do not require clocks.

Ratings: We use published supplement rating unless parent emails Tournaments@NSCFchess.org requesting Current MSA Rating be used.

Unrated sections: These sections are designed to introduce beginning chess players to competition. No US Chess membership is required. If a player has some rated experience, the maximum allowable rating is 300. If a player with a rating (300, or below) chooses to play in an unrated section, the tournament organizer still reserves the right to review the player's tournament history and move the player into a rated section. This decision may not be appealed.

Prizes: Trophies to all players scoring 3 points or more in 4 round sections. Awards presented on completion of each section.

Refunds/Cancellation Policy: If you cannot play in this event, you may withdraw by email no later than 8 am on December 3. Please email us at nscfoffice@nscfchess.org. Refunds must be requested by email; no telephone withdrawals or refund requests. There will be no refunds given for No-Shows. Refunds are subject to a $10 fee which covers administrative and credit card processing charges or you may apply the entire entry fee to a future event. In general, refunds are processed within 2 business days after the tournament and are refunded back to the credit card used for the original payment.

Supervision & Photo Release Policy: All participants under 16 must have an adult supervisor during the tournament. The NSCF does not provide supervision between games. Also note: Photography and/or video recording occurs at most NSCF tournaments. By registering your child for this tournament, you hereby give permission for your child's name and/or picture to appear on the NSCF website/promotion. If for any reason this is not acceptable, please advise NSCF staff in writing PRIOR to the tournament.
