Byes: One ½ point bye permitted in Rounds 1 through 4; 0 point byes permitted in any round. Must request by end of registration: 12p on December 16.

Two Sections: Open (US Chess rated for children pre-K to 12th grade); Reserve (not US Chess rated for children pre-K to 12th grade)

Prizes: Trophies to Top 5 in Open; Trophies to Top 3 in Reserve.

Entry Fee: $35 on or before 12p on December 16, online registration only. NO on site registration. FREE entry for Norwalk residents. Norwalk residents please email name, address and school name to events.CSCA@gmail.com for registration instructions.

This event is organized and sponsored by the CONNECTICUT STATE CHESS ASSOCIATION, REDBANDIT CHESS and NORWALK LIBRARY.

COVID-19 Protocols  – No on-site registration. Advance registration only and space is limited. Players may be required to wear masks in the playing area and elsewhere, whether or not vaccinated. All then current library COVID protocols will be observed. Additional information will be provided.

Chess sets will be provided. If you have a chess clock, please bring it with you. Organizer will have some additional clocks, but may not be enough for everyone.

We do not plan on taking a break during the event. Total play time is approximately 2.5 hours, and total event time is approximately 4 hours. Rounds will be paired as soon as all play in the prior round is complete. Approximate schedule by round is 10:30a, 11:15a, 12p, 12:40p, 1:20p. Award ceremony expected by 2p.

ALL PLAYERS PLAY 5 GAMES. This is not an elimination tournament.

ALL PARTICIPANTS: The library opens at 10 AM. Please arrive on time and check the Advanced Entry List to confirm your registration information.

Refunds/Cancellation Policy: If you cannot play in this event, you may withdraw by email to events.CSCA@gmail.com no later than 11:59p on December 15. Refunds must be requested by email. No withdrawals or refund requests by telephone. There are no refunds for No-Shows. Refunds are subject to a $15 admin fee.
