Notes/Terms: | There are currently NO COVID requirements in place for players. However, masking is recommended inside the building. Adults or other accompanying persons are being asked to show vaccination card or Cleared4 pass. Registration closes on Friday, March 3 at 5:00 pm. Sections may sell out before this time. There is NO ON-SITE REGISTRATION for this event. By registering online, you will not need to check. Upon your arrival, verify that you are on the posted pre-tournament pairing list. Please bring a copy of your confirmation email in the event there is an error. **USCF-rated, except where noted. Bring clocks and score pads. (Unrated sections do not require clocks; notation is recommended but not required.) Chess sets are provided for all sections except Future Masters. Ratings: Rated section use published rating unless parent emails hunterchess@gmail.com and/or puts a note in registration page requesting Current MSA Rating be used. Unrated sections: These sections are designed to introduce beginning chess players to competition. No US Chess membership is required. If a player has some rated experience, the maximum allowable rating is 300. If a player with a rating (300, or below) chooses to play in an unrated section, the tournament organizer still reserves the right to review the player's tournament history and move the player into a rated section. This decision may not be appealed. Prizes: Trophies to all players scoring 3 points or more in 4 round sections. For tournament postponement and delay notices, check the NSCF Facebook page. Changes: If you need to change sections, or for any other assistance, email hunterchess@gmail.com. Refunds/Cancellation Policy: If you cannot play in this event, you may withdraw by email no later than 8 am on March 5. Please email us at hunterchess@gmail.com. Refunds must be requested by email; no telephone withdrawals or refund requests. There will be no refunds given for No-Shows. Refunds are subject to a $10 fee which covers administrative and credit card processing charges or you may apply the entire entry fee to a future event within the same school year. To request a refund, email hunterchess@gmail.com prior to the tournament. Refunds will be will be processed within 7 days after the tournament. Supervision & Photo Release Policy: All participants under 16 must have an adult supervisor during the tournament. The NSCF and/or Hunter Chess does not provide supervision between games. Also note: Photography and/or video recording occurs at most NSCF and/or Hunter tournament events. By registering your child for this event, you hereby give permission for your child's name and/or picture to appear on the NSCF and/or Hunter Chess website/promotion. If for any reason this is not acceptable, please advise tournament staff PRIOR to the first round of the tournament.
