• Instruction by various expert-master level Chess instructors in an intimate setting.
• Classes limited to a maximum of 16 participants.

Lesson Structure:  Each class students will follow the following lesson format.

·      Do now (5 mins): SEL activity.

·      I do (15 mins): Instructor introduces and explains lesson of the day.

·      We do (15 mins): Instructor works alongside students to stamp lesson objective and mentoring component.

·      You do (20 mins): Students work together to complete lesson activity.

·      Closing (5 mins): Restamp lesson objective.

Curriculum:

Project Pawn uses an interactive and vigorous curriculum that focuses on chess, social emotional learning, and mentoring. Our curriculum is designed to help students excel on and off the chessboard by creating strong discipline in areas of problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and emotional awareness.

Important notes:

1. Refund policy: There is a no refund policy. Students are giving one makeup class in an event of an emergency to reschedule outside of their cohort dates. Medical and Religious exceptions are considered and implemented with discretion.
2. Classroom: Classrooms are exclusively for students. Space in the common area is limited and available for parents/guardians on a first come first serve basis.  
3. Parking: There is free street parking in the area.
4. Public Transportation: Bx27, Bx39, and NYC ferry (Soundview Stop).
5. Behavior: Students and families will all be held liable to respect the space, each other, and community. Any conduct that puts others in harm’s way, destruction of premises, or disruption of class instruction will result in termination of membership without a refund.

Media Release:

1.        I grant permission to Project Pawn LLC to use my image (photographs and/or video) for use in Project Pawn LLC publications including videos, email blasts, recruiting brochures, newsletters, and magazines and to use my image in electronic versions of the same publications or on the Project Pawn LLC website or other electronic forms of media.

2.        I hereby waive any right to inspect or approve the finished photographs or electronic matter that may be used in conjunction with them now or in the future, whether that use is known to me or unknown, and I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising from or related to the use of the image.
