K-12 Championship $20 USD initial ; $25 USD effective 03/29/2014
School grades 12 and under.
K-6 Championship $20 USD initial ; $25 USD effective 03/29/2014
School grades 6 and under.
Junior High (K-9) Qualifier $20 USD initial ; $25 USD effective 03/29/2014
School grades 9 and under.
Elementary (K-6) Qualifier $20 USD initial ; $25 USD effective 03/29/2014
School grades 6 and under.
Primary (K-3) Qualifier $20 USD initial ; $25 USD effective 03/29/2014
School grades 3 and under.

Schedule: Round times are 9:00am, and then as available.
Time Control: Championship sections: 4 rounds, Game in 60 minutes (per player) with a 5 second delay.
Qualifier sections: 5 rounds, Game in 40 minutes (per player) with a 5 second delay.
Byes: Half (1/2) point bye requests (2 maximum) are available for all rounds.
Byes must be requested prior to the start of round 1.

Registration closes on March 28th at 7pm.

Championship and Qualifier sections are USCF Rated. Only the Qualifier sections allow for eligibility for the State tournament. Please see flyer for details on qualifying requirements for the AZ State Scholastic Championship. 

Championship sections - Individual Swiss format with 4 rounds in 2 divisions. K-6 Championship open to students in grades K-6.  K-12 Championship open to students in grades K-12.

Qualifier sections - individual Swiss format with 5 rounds in 4 divisions. Open to students in grades K-9. Players may play up, but only qualify for the division that they participate in.

Please bring chess clocks and sets, none provided.

Please arrive by 8:15 am to inform us of players that will not attend. Pairings are posted at 8:45 am. Announcements start at 8:55 am and 1st round begins at 9.
